REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT PLACEMENT

You will receive training on fair housing and landlord-tenant law and will network with housing-related organizations and government entities throughout the Greater Accra  region. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone thinking about entering the web content production, community development, fair housing, or real estate fields.

Applicants should be willing to learn about and travel to many diverse neighborhoods and suburbs, have regular access to an Internet-connected computer, be familiar with basic word processing programs and be familiar with digital still and video cameras. All applicants will be considered without regard to their gender, sex, race, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, familial status, marital status, or disability

INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS RESPONSIBILITIES
You will assist the public policy staff with a variety of research and writing projects, including but not limited to:

Researching local and state housing policies and procedures concerning the preservation of affordable, multifamily housing;
Preparing materials for individauals, organization, government agencies and others interested parties in preserving existing, affordable, multifamily housing;

Tracking federal and state legislative efforts; and Developing and submitting relevant comments during public comment periods to state housing finance agencies.

What kind of skills you need to go on this type of project:
The intern/volunteer must be dependable, flexible, and able to multi-task and work independently. Commitment to policies affecting low-income people as well as possess a good communication and written skills in the English language.

WHERE THE PROJECT IS BASED
Most of our projects are based in the capital city, Accra, with shops, banks & internet cafes nearby. This vibrant city is renowned for its friendly atmosphere where visitors are always welcome. It's full of contrasts: from traditional culture and history to modern infrastructure.
